Description
Section titled “Description”Ensure that your Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters are configured to use private endpoints only for control plane access, effectively disabling external access to the Kubernetes API. This requires configuring the GKE cluster with private nodes, a private master IP range, and IP aliasing.

This requires configuring the GKE cluster with private nodes, a private master IP range, and IP aliasing. impact: | While Kubernetes API requires authentication tokens for sensitive actions, a vulnerability could expose it with unrestricted access. Moreover, attackers could potentially identify the cluster and Kubernetes API version to check for known vulnerabilities. reference: - https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/how-to/private-clusters - https://www.trendmicro.com/cloudoneconformity/knowledge-base/gcp/GKE/clusters-with-private-endpoints.html tags: cloud,devops,gcp,gcloud,gke,kubernetes,security,networking,gcp-cloud-config
